HERE are York Knavesmire Harriers, whose current stock of 250 members have shared in excellent success this season, their 30th as a club.

Members grabbed no fewer than eight solo and team first places in the North Yorkshire Road Race League, a series of races in and around Tadcaster , Easingwold, York, Selby , Bishop Wilton, Pocklington and Stillington.

Both men’s and ladies’ teams triumphed, as the club did in the team handicap section.

Among solo winners were Ian Anderson (first male 40); Emma Yates (first overall and first female 35); Maureen Medlar (first F55); James McDonald (first individual handicap).

• The Harriers are hosting and running a veterans’ race around and over the River Ouse on Wednesday, August 8, when runners from all over Yorkshire will compete.
