Yorkshire side to face Easingwold cricketers

EASINGWOLD Cricket Club will take on a Yorkshire past and present side in a Twenty20 game on Friday.
The Tykes’ line-up for the game at Back Lane, which starts at 5pm, will be include wicketkeeper Gerard Brophy and three other squad members, plus former county stars Ashley Metcalfe, Gavin Hamilton, John Sadler, Mark Lawson, Gary Fellows and David Painter.
Easingwold, skippered by Martin Piercy, will field three guest players from other local clubs – Stephen Piercy of Woodlands, Sessay’s Matthew Till and Dave Johnson, of Dunnington , plus big-hitting team-mates Paul Skilbeck, Dan Copeland and Paul Redshaw.
Easingwold chairman Ian Connell said: “A warm invitation is extended to the whole town to come along.”
The afternoon’s entertainment will also feature a barbecue and bar, plus a raffle, auction and sports quiz.
