Knights' U18s eye top finish

YORK City Knights Under-18s will be looking to end their mini-campaign on a high when they travel to Halifax tonight (8pm).

The Knights young guns have won four of their five matches, their 100 per cent run ending last time out against Hunslet.

But confidence is high they can bounce back by completing a double over the highly-rated youngsters from the Shay.

Knights general manager Ian Wilson said: “We’re really happy with the way the U18s have gone this year.

“There’s been a massive improvement across the board. Each individual has improved and collectively they’ve improved as a team.

“We beat Halifax the other week at home but they’re a decent side so this will be a tough test.

“It will be nice for the lads to play at the Shay on a good surface and if it’s a decent night there should be some good rugby league on show.”

Knights U18s (provisional): Morland, Tomlinson, Winstanley, West, Minikin, Brewer, Hall, Green, Hutchinson, Poulter, Stubbs, Ellis, Fitzsimmons, Braithwaite, Parker, Hewick, Carter.
