Leigh Rientoul propels York Acorn ARLFC ‘A’ to comfortable victory

Acorn ARLFC ‘A’ team gained a comfortable 46-0 victory over Heworth in the Yorkshire Men’s League.

The hosts had ample possession but were not able to capitalise and the speedy Acorn backs ran riot to score some excellent tries.

Star of the show was Acorn full-back Leigh Rientoul. His all-round support play was excellent, leading him to snatch no fewer than five tries.

Other try-scorers for the Blue and Golds were Paul Cross, Joel Johnson and Jimmy Mountford, while Anthony Chilton kicked six goals and James Bromwich one.

For Heworth, full-back Alex Heard had an excellent game on his debut and was well supported by Paul Thompson, Jack Carling and Paul Hodgson.

For Acorn Joe Burns, Karl Harton and Chris Rushworth all had performed admirably.
