Injury fails to halt Scott Lincoln

CITY of York Athletics Club shot put ace Scott Lincoln tasted success at the Welsh International meeting in Cardiff despite missing out on a personal best.

The 18-year-old, who was nursing a cut knee following a work accident that resulted in ten stitches, won the shot representing England in the under-20s event after a throw of 17.29 metres.

Lincoln, whose personal best is 17.91 metres, also threw 18.29 metres but fouled to rule out the effort.
