York City Knights reserves edged out 40-30 at Keighley Cougars

A YOUTHFUL York City Knights reserve side were edged out 40-30 at Keighley Cougars.

The visitors fielded eight under-18s players against a side that beat them 50-12 earlier in the season – and the result was in the balance until the Cougars scored a try late in the game.

Harry Carter and Jack Stearman scored first-half tries for the Knights and second-half scores were added by Adam Howard, Gareth Poutney and Ben Dent. Callum Hannigan kicked all five conversions.

Luke Tomlinson, Carter and Rhys Clarke all turned in eye-catching performances for the Knights.
