Bowls: All Wigginton cup final duel

Wigginton’s Colin Ellis and Shipton’s Ken Lippett keep a check on the score in their Maddison Cup semi-final
THE final of the York Veteran Bowls Association Maddison Cup will be an all-Wigginton affair.
Colin Ellis’ Wigginton ‘A’ team beat Ken Lippett’s Shipton side 20-10 in the semi-final to book a final meeting with the club’s ‘B’ team, led by Bill Thomlinson.
Thomlinson’s side were 25-10 winners over Osbaldwick ‘C’ in the last four.
Bishopthorpe ‘A’ and Holgate WMC will meet in the final of the Coronation Cup.
Martin Prime’s Bish outfit were 20-17 victors over Geoff Walker’s Hull Road Park, while Gerry Mackie’s Holgate side beat West Park ‘B’ 18-10.
The finals will be held at West Park on Thursday, August 2.
