Simon Dyson storms home in golf's Scottish Open

YORK golfer Simon Dyson carded a blemish-free round of 67 to stay in contention at the Scottish Open in Inverness.

The Malton & Norton Golf Club star goes into the final day on 12 under par in a tie for 16th place, five shots behind leader Francesco Molinari.

The 34-year-old picked up only one birdie on the front nine, but four birdies in his last seven holes propelled him up the leaderboard.

Those shots were picked up at the 12th, 13th, 16th and 18th holes as Dyson followed up his opening two rounds of 68 and 69 in style at Castle Stuart.
