Aaah!!

Everytime I go to the BC loos there'll be some poster telling me I should be looking at my balls more often or asking me how often I pee! :(

Good to see it was a York based company!

Well if the shirt's anything like the one being posted around twitter then I hope the team will be playing with more creativity and flair because the design certainly doesn't show any of it. Very disappointing and poor by the club for releasing 3 new home shirts in the last 3 years.

More generic Nike rubbish. Could we not have something with a bit of class the way the likes of FGR do.

It's not too bad. Wonder what the rest of the kit / away version looks like?

Not bothered about the shirt.

I've got the 'Y' front retro. It does me season after season so the money stays in my pocket!

The problem with being a poor brother in the Nike's opinion is that we will always get their kids hand downs.

Another rip off for the fans after turning out in numbers in the play offs and two wembley finals.

the new home shirt looks too much like the Fleetwood look alike of two seasons ago and bearing in mind we are going to be with em in the same league again next year id have hoped for something different.Still as its so like two years ago maybe my lad might let me off buying him one for this coming season as he,s already got the similar one, damm he,ll probably go for the away shirt instead.

Its great that Benenden Healthcare are investing in the local club. Good for them and thank you very much. If I was employed in the public sector I would definately use them for healthcare insurance now (but I'm not).

The kit is wonderful only because it has NPower League on it!! Might look at switching from Scottish Power now.

Hopefully the shorts are slightly darker blue than last year?

All positive today and hopefully that will continue with good news from Mez Moke etc

Same colour blue as last year I'm afraid.

Nooooo!

Basically:

The royal blue makes us 'Aldershot';

The dark blue 'Spain' or 'Barca'.

Big error.

Having seen more photos of the new strip on the websites I have to say it is a chance missed to offer some kind of identity. It's a poor generic pick out of previous seasons hand-me-downs. The sponsors have missed a trick too as the lack of a decent logo makes it look just to busy and not that easy to identify with a brand.

Poor effort for a kit - an opportunity missed by City. Dark blue shorts would have helped.....

.....and it seems it's not Tom Platt modelling the kit but a new signing we've not been told about! Grrrrr...

Worst kit since Batcholers effort,They look like pub team shirts if you ask me. Why couldn't we have kept last seasons kits and just changed the sponsor.

Funny, I seem to remember last years shirt being slated on this website, but when I was at Wembley, twice, they were worn in their thousands, (by adults) including me. Nowt as queer as folk!! I for one think it is better than last years, clean and simple is sometimes more classy. Everyone to their own opinion. CTID.

who gives a t-s- what the kit looks like, the colour of the kit etc makes does not make a player any better or worse. Its the team that wins games and that is all that matters.............

York City Football Club is pleased to announce that Winger, Ashley Chambers has also had his deal extended for another year by City Manager, Gary Mills.

Ashley will continue to be a key member of the team for the new season for The Minstermen, following his intrumental role at Wembley for both finals at the end of Season 11/12.

We look forward to his participation in our forthcoming League 2 campaign.

Sounds like a 1 year deal to me.

The new kit is not dissimilar to the one two years ago. Gary mills changed it, rightly or wrongly, to represent a new era in the clubs history under his management. Fair enough you could argue. That kit will forever be associated with the wembley (twice) achievements and my home and away shirts will be forever held in a drawer somewhere, beside several others including my first the sky blue away shirt of 85,86 (or thereabouts) with the burgundy epaulettes and the legend that is HANSA resplendent across the front. There could be an argument made that the new kit heralds a new era in the clubs history in the football league and will disassociate itself with non league football. A new start if you will. Let's just hope that the kit won't change next year as its getting silly but I suppose Nike will have a say in that. I don't mind as much as buying a shirt is the main way I contribute to club funds as I only get to a couple of games a seasonal home. Hope to make the games at Rochdale bury and fleetwood this season and as many home games as my shifts allow. Come on York.

The sponsors should just have put 'Benenden Healthcare' rather than include the superfluous 'society' and 'www.etc'. The website takes 2 seconds to find once you type in 'Benenden' to google and who cares whether its a society or not. No-one watching on the football league show will be able to make it out, even with ultra HD.

In fact, the website on the shirts is wrong.

It should be www.benenden.org.uk
not
www.benenden.co.uk

Toal waste of space.

The Benenden logo colours are a quite good combination of red and darker blue.

So much has been missed in putting this strip and new sponsor association together. Can we start again pleas?

I'm afraid your wrong Sir Alex and the website is correct. The Sponsor will be advertising nationally including TV advertising in the near future and by all accounts presented more financially than any other sponsor has in the last 8 years which is undertsandable as we are now a League 2 club with more appeal.

Its a great tie up but I do think the information on the shirts is far too busy. Look at Man Utd -
'AIG', 'DHL'.. hits you straight away!
Plus, the colours on Benenden's logo and City's could have been matched up perfectly.

What a shame. We start life back in the league with such a rubbish home kit. Reminds me of that forlorn kid at school who never used to bring in his PE kit and so ended up with what he could scrounge out of lost property. I was going to buy a shirt but not wasting money on that one.
