Yorkshire bag rare bonus to take control against Northants

A curious thing happened at Headingley today.

For the first time in almost two years, Yorkshire secured themselves maximum batting bonus points.

That was after they posted 416 all out in their first innings to take control of their LV= County Championship division two clash with Northamptonshire.

The visitors then stumbled to 43-1 second time around, meaning they head into the final day still 120 runs away from making the Tykes bat again.

It was truly a team effort that got Yorkshire over the line to a fifth point, with the county last achieving the elusive feat against Lancashire in June 2010.
