York City's Ashley Chambers misses England 'C' trip

The 22-year-old striker will not be on the plane due to a couple of knocks.

Very hard lines for the lad, I know it means a lot to him. On the plus side means he can have longer to recover from a very long and hard season.......fingers crossed he now gets signed on a 2/3 year contract.

Disappointment for Ashley Chambers but will this mean a call-up for Matty Blair, or, is he already in the squad?!

I hope his "couple of knocks" were on the Managers door so he could enter and sign his new contract! Glad to hear he wants to stay.

Don't know who the selection panel is but I would definately have Matty in the squad and maybe Jason Walker??! The way the senior England side are having probs. with injuries - I would drop these two lads off in the Ukraine on the way back, I mean, Jordan Henderson etc., we're having a laugh!!!

Hmmm(?) No comments from Jimmy Hinch?

On another note and a sign of the new season and our elevated status.

The first-round ties in the Capital One Cup will be held in the week beginning 13 August
The first draw will be held on Thursday, 14 June.
There are a number of potential "biggies" in the bag with us. So the first taste of the new world might be a night match in front of a large crowd. Cannot wait.
One gripe - since Mills transformed our outlook televised matches have become oh so boring. Tomorrow's match at Wembley is just totally insignificant.

excuse my ignorance but is the capitol one cup the latest name for the knockout featuring just league one and league 2 teams?. And on a different note is,nt it time city appeared now on league 2 bbc sport rather than the conference ,we are a league 2 club now c,mon beeb sort yrself out.

Mills is hoping to make Michael Coulson his first signing. Despite some on here not rating him I like the lad, good quality winger with a stack of assists.

For "couple of knocks", read "stop him getting poached" - remember what happened when Fairclough snaffled Bishop under similar circumstances? Shrewd of GM who will be offering AC a two year contract next week.
