Ex-Minsterman Robbie Weir signs for Burton Albion

FORMER on-loan York City midfielder Robbie Weir has signed for League Two rivals Burton Albion in a two-year deal.

Weir played for the Minstermen under Gary Mills during the 2010/11 campaign. He was released by Tranmere Rovers last month.

Elsewhere, Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has recruited his sixth new player of the summer with Scunthorpe midfielder Michael O’Connor joining Daniel Nardiello, Kayode Odejayi, Ian Sharps, Nicky Hunt and Scott Shearer.

Right-back Curtis Osano has also left Luton for AFC Wimbledon while Marc Richards has moved from Port Vale to Chesterfield.

Morecambe have added former Scunthorpe defender Andrew Wright to their squad following on from the capture of ex-Bradford City full-back Robbie Threlfall.

Striker Paris Cowan-Hall, who was at Woking last season, has been snapped up by Plymouth and Accrington Stanley have signed 22-year-old midfielder Bohan Dixon from the amateur scene in Liverpool.
