Brett Turner extends York City Knights deal and Chris Green is set to return
11:30am Friday 1st June 2012 in Sport
YORK City Knights hooker Brett Turner has signed a contract extension keeping him at Huntington Stadium until the end of 2013.
There had been rumours that the Hull-based 24-year-old was struggling with work commitments but this new deal cuts short any concerns he was set to leave the club.
It follows the recruitment - as reported in The Press today - on dual-registration terms of 20-year-old Hull half-back Danny Nicklas, who will link up with the Knights next week ahead of their next game, at home to Swinton a week on Sunday.
The club have also confirmed they are in talks with another half-back - The Press having revealed that Featherstone’s former Huddersfield play-maker, Tom Hemingway, was in their sights.
Meanwhile, the Knights are optimistic that forward Chris Green, who has been on dual-reg from Hull this season, will be made available for next week’s Swinton match.
He has not played for York since mid-March after being recalled by his parent club.
