Win tickets to Dunlop British Touring Car Championship at Croft
11:20am Friday 1st June 2012 in Sport
TOP class motorsport is coming to North Yorkshire – and you could be there to catch the action.
The Press is promoting a competition for Croft Circuit to give away three pairs of tickets to the North East’s biggest motor sport event of the year – Croft’s round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
The BTCC roars into action at Croft in North Yorkshire on the weekend of June 23 and 24. It’s the only time this year that the UK’s premier motor racing championship stops off in the region so it’s no wonder the event annually attracts tens of thousands of people.
Indeed, with the added razzmatazz of live national TV coverage on ITV4, it truly ranks as both one of the region’s biggest sporting and social events on the calendar.
What’s more, there’s even free weekend admission for accompanied children aged 15 and under, which includes access to the BTCC teams paddock and a special autograph session with the star touring car drivers.
And you could be there as one of our competition winners to see the likes of Jason Plato’s KX Momentum Racing MG6, pictured, do battle with arch-rival Matt Neal’s Yuasa Honda Civic and the rest of the touring car grid as they feature in three pulsating races.
In fact, the season’s first five races were all won by different drivers – Plato, Neal, Robert Collard (eBay Motors BMW), Mat Jackson (Redstone Ford Focus) and Gordon Shedden (Yuasa Honda).
Andrew Jordan (Pirtek Honda), Tom Onslow-Cole (eBay BMW), Frank Wrathall (Dynojet Toyota), Dave Newsham (Vauxhall Vectra) and Rob Austin (Audi A4) are among the other likely contenders.
There is sure to be no short supply of the BTCC’s famous panel-scraping action at Croft as the title race hots up.
In addition, the supporting Porsche Carrera Cup, Ginetta GT Supercup and Ginetta Junior categories will provide plenty more drama for those trackside.
