IZZI is the tops at York Racecourse

IZZI TOP struck gold in the Betfred Middleton Stakes at York’s Racecourse's Dante Festival this afternoon.

Mohedian Lady led the field by several lengths until Izzi Top (7-2 fav) picked up the pace in the last quarter of a mile and pulled away.

John Gosden’s filly faced a close challenge from Sajjhaa, ridden by Frankie Detorri, in the final furlong and a half but was too strong for last year’s runner-up.

Third place was claimed by I’m a Dreamer while Barefoot Lady, trained at Malton by Richard Fahey, came home fourth.
