You've just, effectively, answered your question. Only 8500 in a year when we only had one trip to Wembley, instead of two in a week. Do the maths, stop boring us with your moaning and get behind the team. They need support not bickering.
Who's not behind the team? I'm moaning about the people of York ,are you that thick that you can't understand that from my post's? How have I answered my own question? 8,500 when there where no trains back to York and kids were back at school the next day is 2k more than we are taking this year, its a disgrace!!
If people want to go they will go, whether there are trains or not. I took the view two years ago that I would drive for that specific reason - even though it would mean myself and my 10 year old son would get back at midnight on a school night. Thats what you might refer to as commitment. After the debacle of 1993, when my train was rather poorly at Doncaster and still limped on, only to break down near Bawtry, ensuring that I got to Wembley 15 minutes before half time and then having to endure a four hour trip back on a dry (two year old) train with no A/C, I will always now choose the car (or the coach) over the train. I am sure a lot of others did also. It is also cheaper. In 1993 we took 10-12k on our very first trip to (old) Wembley. That's not surprising. Four trips in four years (two in a week) and you can see why there might only be 6500. As for calling me thick - as Mr Burns (The Simpsons) says - "You have made a powerful enemy my friend".
A powerful enemy cheers for that!! Hahahahahahahahaha"

‘Turn out in force’ plea to York City fans

YORK City have sold 6,000 tickets for Sunday’s Blue Square Bet Premier play-off final against Luton Town at Wembley on Sunday – and manager Gary Mills hopes the club can take as many fans as possible back to London.

Luton sales have passed 27,000 from a total allocation of just over 29,000 and, while acknowledging the difficulties facing some York fans in funding two Wembley trips in a short space of time, Mills said: “It’s one of those occasions that doesn’t happen very often. It would be great for every single person in York to go down and support us. I understand the reasons they can’t.

“I know the thousands who would love to but can’t. Let’s get as many as we can there. Whoever can get there – thanks very much – whoever can’t – thanks as well. Newport took more than us on Saturday but you would have thought we were the ones who had double the support.

“The opportunity, for those who can and those who can’t, is to celebrate it on Monday. I am sure everyone will turn out.”
