Trainer Richard Fahey eyes flying start to York campaign

MALTON trainer Richard Fahey is being tipped to make a flying start to the 2012 season at York Racecourse tomorrow.

The Musley Bank handler’s Mayson is the 7-2 favourite to win the Duke Of York Stakes on the opening day of the three-day Dante Meeting.

There are 14 declared runners for the £100,000 six-furlong Group 2 contest on Knavesmire, with top sprinter Hoof It, trained at Sheriff Hutton by Mick Easterby, rated a 4-1 second favourite for his first outing of the campaign.

The Press racing tipster Tom O’Ryan is backing Mayson, while also tipping Fahey, pictured, to score with Mica Mika, Tatlisu and Baccarat.

John Gosden’s The Fugue is a 6-4 favourite to win tomorrow’s £65,000 Group 3 Tattersalls Musidora Stakes.
