Bishopthorpe avoided successive relegations as they beat Malton & Norton 4-2 to condemn the Ryedale side to reserve ‘C’ football. Thorpe United’s slim promotion hopes in reserve ‘C’ were shattered in the second half of their game against local rivals Hemingbrough.
Thorpe, needing to win to have any chance of going up, led at the break but Hemingbrough ran amok after the interval to win 5-1.
Dave Young (2), Mike Brown (2) and Luke Zacharenko did the damage.
As a result, Tadcaster Magnets are promoted along with reserve ‘C’ champions Fulford United.

Two of their goals came from Paul Fowler.
Selby RSSC remain on track for the reserve ‘D’ championship after a 3-0 home win over Huby.
Luke Lambert (2) and Tachas were on target for the Selby side and victory in their final fixture, also against Huby, will see them pip Strensall to the title.
In the Division Four Section One Trophy, two goals from Tom Knowles helped Bishop Wilton beat Moor Lane 3-2.
