BASEBALL is back in North Yorkshire.
Harrogate Tigers Baseball Club, based at Harrogate High School, compete in the British North AAA League and are looking to boost their ranks.
The club, who won the league pennant and AAA National Championships in their debut year in 2009, will be holding indoor training sessions on February 19, March 4 and March 18.
Players, old and new, will get together at the high school sports hall in Ainsty Road from noon to 3pm.
The sessions will cost £5 per player to cover the hiring of the venue.
The team are also looking for umpires and scorers, with volunteers paid £10 to £25 per game.
There are teams for adults over the age of 16 and youth sides for children from five to 15.
David Criss, team president and manager, said: “After failing to field a team in 2011, we are really looking forward to the start of the 2012 season.
“I would recommend giving baseball a try as it is a great team sport that really pushes one’s abilities while learning the skills required for hitting, throwing, fielding and running the bases.”
Anyone interested in joining should email harrogatetigers@yahoo.com.
