A HOST of podium finishes have been bagged by East Yorkshire rally duo Sammi Gabb and Tracey Cook.
Driver Gabb, of North Duffield, and Pocklington-based co-driver Cook have steered their Peugeot 106 Rallye to success in their debut competitive season in the sport.
The York Motor Club team have come through five rounds of the East Midlands Motor Club Association Championship with Gabb finishing as top driver in class one and highest placed woman, while Cook claimed second in class one co-driver.
In the Association of North East Motor Clubs Multi Use Rally Championship, Gabb was third overall, first under-25s driver and first female driver, while Cook was awarded second in class co-driver.
Gabb was also named third overall in the Rally Drivers Award handed out by the British Women’s Racing Drivers Club.
This season, Gabb will team up with co-driver Wayne Smythe, of Elvington.
Since the end of last season, the pair have been focusing on rebuilding and upgrading the engine of their 106.
