YORK City will attempt to stage their FA Trophy third round home tie against Ebbsfleet tomorrow night after it was frozen off at the weekend.

The game was postponed at 12.30pm on Saturday after a second pitch inspection by the referee. All eight of Saturday’s FA Trophy games were called off with City’s game the last to go down.

Each match has been rearranged for tomorrow, but the draw for the quarter-finals is still due today.

Right now its not looking good that the game will be played tomorrow. My guess is that we will get an early postponement this time. I heard Liam Daish doing his radio interview after Saturdays call-off. He was highly critical that the game was not postponed on Friday, to save them a wasted journey. Evidently a local referee thought that the game might just be able to go ahead, after his Friday inspection. But for once the weather forecast was accurate with a severe frost on Friday night and snowfall forecasted for mid-afternoon on Saturday. City will have to compensate Ebbsfleet fot their wasted journey and accomodation, and they wont want any more added expenditure on Tuesday. It all comes out of the gate money and mid-week FA Trophy games are not big crowd pullers.
