NEW Earswick ladies had a welcome 87-78 victory against Doncaster, picking up six points to move within eight points of leaders Harrogate in Yorkshire League section ‘B’.
At home, there were convincing wins for Marilyn Mead’s team, who won comfortably 36-15, and Peggy Walker’s side, who led from start to finish in a 24-12 victory.
Away, Kath Sykes’ team led 15-13 with seven ends to play but they failed to score again and lost 25-15.
Margaret Moss’ side dropped 13 shots between the third and ninth ends to go from 5-0 ahead to 13-5 down and went on to lose 26-12.
