Keith Dalgleish, fast making a name for himself as a trainer since being forced to prematurely hang up his riding boots, can take Wolverhampton by storm tomorrow by completing a treble.

Dalgleish – a leading apprentice and a Group 1-winning jockey for North Yorkshire trainer Mark Johnston before losing his battle with the scales – is now based as a trainer in Lanarkshire.

Loyalties live long, however, with Dalgleish, right, who regularly employs Joe Fanning, one of the Johnston stable’s stalwart jockeys, to ride his horses.

Tomorrow, Fanning is aboard Dalgleish’s Munsarim, Master Of Dance and Blown It, all of whom boast winning chances.

Munsarim has won both his races this year and goes for a hat-trick in the claimer, while Master Of Dance is aiming to step up on his recent creditable runner-up effort at Lingfield in the Stay At The Wolverhampton Holiday Inn Handicap.

Blown It, who runs in the Mirrors Punters Club Handicap, is bidding to follow up a win on the same course 11 days ago.

The sprinter, who got the better of Falasteen on his latest outing, had previously finished second at Lingfield. Like so many of Dalgleish’s horses, he is in tremendous heart at the moment. He should prove hard to beat.

Alben Star is fancied to get back in the winning groove in the Follow Us On Twitter @bluesq Conditions Stakes over six furlongs.

Richard Fahey’s lightly-raced sprinter, who missed the whole of last year, returned to action in a blaze of glory on this course last month when coming from nearly last to first. He just failed to follow up next time at Lingfield when the winner may have poached first run on him.

Although Alben Star reduced the leeway to half a length at the line, the post was always coming too soon for him. With Paul Hanagan on duty in Dubai, Tony Hamilton has the mount on the four-year-old, who is awarded the nap vote.

Also worth noting at Wolverhampton are the promising Rei d’Oro (3.50) and recent course winner Speedy Yaki (5-20).

At Lingfield, Jimmy Fortune could be among the jockeys to follow.

Fortune has good prospects in the opening handicap on One More Roman (1.20), runner-up at Wolverhampton last time out, but previously a course and distance winner here.

Biba Diva (3.30) also has a winning chance for Fortune in a three-year-old handicap.

Trained at Newmarket by Jeremy Noseda, Biba Diva was a beaten favourite on her all-weather debut at Kempton but deserves another chance, having scored on the turf last season when she looked fairly promising. There may be more to come from her on Polytrack.

Roedean (2.55), successful at Wolverhampton on her latest two starts, and Mark Johnston’s once-raced Scatter Dice (4.05), a respectable second here a fortnight ago, are also noteworthy.
