CITY of York Athletics Club runner Richard Buck was fourth in the 400 metres at the Aviva International Match in Glasgow.
The 25-year-old clocked 47.63 seconds representing Great Britain in the five-team competition at Kelvin Hall against a top quality one-lap field.
Drawn in lane five, Buck was fourth at the break and finished in that position behind winner Pavel Trenikhin, of Russia, who clocked 46.68 seconds.
Buck said: "It was a high class field and it's good to be in that sort of field.
"The first race of the year is always hard, but it's good to get it under your belt and move on.
"Things have been going really well in training and I have no doubt I will get faster."
