STATION stepped up their division one title challenge in the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning Football League with a 5-1 win over leaders Enterprise.

Station opened the scoring on ten minutes when Gary Collier headed in a Luke Durham cross at the far post. Collier then turned provider when his through ball sent Steve Lyon clear to make it 2-0.

Station missing a penalty and then, early in the second period, Enterprise made it 2-1 with a goal from Matty Brown.

Within minutes Collier struck his second and Station substitute Jack Guest made it 4-1 before Ollie O’Neill came off the bench to complete the scoring with his first touch.

Skelton and Acorn shared the points in a 12-goal thriller.

Acorn led 6-3 midway through the second period with Nick Hutchinson finding the net four times adding to single strikes from Luke Richardson and Alex Almack.

Skelton fought back with two goals from Neale Holmes and strikes from Tom Haigh, Ricky Hunter, Bradley Clough and Lewis Archer.

King William need only one more point to clinch the division two title after moving 14 points clear at the top with a 6-0 win over Leeman United.

Danny Snaith bagged a hat-trick and there were further goals from Scott Nicholas, Colin Rayner and Anthony Evans.

Dunnington’s hopes of catching the leaders were dealt a blow when they lost 4-3 to Wigginton Grasshoppers.

Wiggy ’keeper Michael Clancy netted a penalty, Eddy Clapham scored twice and Dan Zambelli was also on the scoresheet. Scott Sullivan netted a 25-yard free-kick and another goal for Dunnington, while Grant Bulmer also scored.

Derwent United battered Cueball 8-1 to keep up their promotion chances. Dave Bradshaw, Simon Cook and Dean Nuttall scored two apiece, adding to single strikes for Bryde Freer and Steve Twamley.

Albion Vaults eased their relegation fears with a 4-2 win over York Nomads thanks to goals from Kevin Taylor, Steven Rowbottom and Chris Coxon (2).

Nomads replied through Nick Rank and Paul Crangle.

Michael Young, Tom Collins and Luke Zacharenko were on the mark for Hemingbrough as a 3-2 win over Britannia Tadcaster moved them four points clear at the top of division three.

Matty Howgate scored twice for Britannia, who missed out on a point when they failed to convert a last-minute penalty.

Ten-man Beeswing lost ground on the leaders after going down 2-1 to visitors Bubwith.

Craig Rowden put Bubwith in front on 80 minutes and, although player-manager Paul Adamson levelled, James Andrews sealed the points for the visitors.

A hat-trick from Nick McBride earned Marcia Grey a share of the points in a 3-3 draw against Barlby.

Hambleton netted three own goals in a 5-4 defeat to York Medics.

Ben Cresswell and Matty Fortnam also scored for the Medics, while Nigel Croad (2), Matty Dunne and Graeme Parker were the Hambleton marksmen.

Brayton closed the gap on the leaders in division four after beating Huntsmen 3-2, with goals from Dale Holt, Chris Blackwell and Lewis Chapell. George Wojik and John Knowles scored for Huntsmen.

Cross Keys came from behind to beat LNER Builders 5-1. Shaun Kettlewell put Builders 1-0 up, but a hat-trick from Lee Harris and a Joe Mason brace won it for Keys.

Huntington beat Gypsy Moth 8-0 with a treble from Danny Shephard, plus strikes from Lewis Musgrave, Arron Rose, Chris Long, Shane Bogg and Simon Yorke.

Division five leaders Bubwith hammered ten-men FTR Burnholme 23-0 with the goals shared between Jamie Sedman (5), Tom Robinson (4), Will Nicholson (4), Martin Houseman (3), Scott Jackson (2), Adam Sharp, Alex McRae, Christian Wood, Andy Woodall and Steve Butterfield.

Drax, with braces from Kevin Newlove and James Barrett, beat hosts Walnut Tree 4-2.

Hat-tricks from Michael Kitchen and Daniel Hook helped St John to a 9-3 win at F1 Racing.
