Old Malton took the York Minster Engineering Football League reserve ‘A’ honours in the top-of-the-table clash.

The hosts, who have never lost to Wigginton Grassoppers at home, inflicted a first defeat of the season on the leaders.

Easingwold Town suffered their first home defeat since last February as they lost 4-0 to a young Dringhouses side.

Sixteen-year-old Sam Kitson led the way with a hat-trick and Tom Hawksby, also 16, completed the rout.

After going ahead through Jacob Noble at home to Huntington, they bowed out 4-1 to a Garth Hirst hat-trick and a Chris Johnson goal.

A share of the spoils suited reserve ‘B’ leaders Hamilton Panthers more than second- placed Aviva after the two sides drew 2-2. Jim Allington and Joe Broughton netted for Aviva.

Third-placed Heslington failed to close the gap as they were also held to a 2-2 draw by Pocklington.

Baz Gargett and Jordan Morris shared the Pock goals, Martin Pepper and James Fletcher replying.

White Horse beat Wilberfoss 2-0 with goals from Tom Hudson and Adam Beavers, while Simon Marshall and Danny Wood strikes saw York RI to a 2-1 home win over Malton & Norton for whom Ed Marwood scored.

Reserve ‘C’ leaders Fulford needed a big slice of luck as Adam Lewis scored the only goal of the game to defeat bottom of the table Crayke.

Tadcaster walloped third in the table Thorpe 9-0 with prolific goal scorer Sam Farthing getting four of their goals, the others shared by John Darnison (3), Rob Parnaby and Adam Field. Stamford Bridge suffered their first home defeat of the season, going down 5-1 to Nestlé.

Each side bagged an own goal with the rest of the visitors’ plunder going to Dan Marshall (2), Sam Smith and Dan Thompson.

Tockwith’s Chris Newby hit a hat-trick, supplemented by Steve Gay and Michael Harper strikes in the 5-2 success at Cliffe. Lee Carter struck both Cliffe’s replies.

The top two sides in reserve ‘D’ both recorded away wins.

Selby RSSC hit seven unanswered goals past basement side Bishop Wilton – Takacs (2), Ryan Willis (2), Kyle Pool, Gary Howden and Ricky Noble on target.
