Premier status for North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League

THE North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League has been awarded England and Wales Cricket Board Premier League status.

The league is now one of 25 ECB Premier Leagues across England and Wales – including the Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League – who run competitions at the top level of club cricket.

All 14 clubs in the league have achieved Clubmark status.

The concept of ECB Premier Leagues was introduced in 1997 with the aim of raising the playing standard of the top tier of club cricket and to bridge the gap between recreational cricket and the first-class game.

The league includes teams from the northern parts of North Yorkshire, including Stokesley and Whitby.
