A HAT-TRICK from Andy Rose helped Dunnington take a major step towards securing the York Minster Engineering Football League reserve ‘A’ title.

Dunnington’s second string hit eight unanswered goals past Bishopthorpe. The goal tally was completed by Tom Wheatlands (2), Olly Ellwood (2) and Russ Wilkinson.

Only Copmanthorpe can deny Dunnington the crown and they beat York St John 5-0.

The marksmen were Ben Sykes, Glen Featherstone, Andy Manns. Simon Hughes and Sam O’Brian.

Huntington trailed 3-1 at the interval at home to Wigginton but a flurry of second half goals eased them to a 6-3 victory.

George Middleton (2), Charlie Copeland, Kevin Martin and Chris Johnson added to an opener from Jack Sullivan. Tom Young also saved a penalty for Huntington.

Grasshoppers’ tally was shared between Adam Jenkins, Ben Thompson and Will Dunlop.

Gary Rylands hit both Haxby goals in a 2-1 victory over Old Malton.

Strikes from Andrew Metcalfe senior and Lee Briscombe earned Easingwold a 2-1 win at Aviva and three priceless points in their battle to stay in the top flight.

A last-minute goal from Marco Shepherd enabled Dringhouses to extend their lead at the top of reserve ‘B’ as they defeated Heslington 1-0.

Amotherby & Swinton moved into third place in the table – with games in hand – following a 3-0 win at Wilberfoss. An Andy Phillips brace and a goal from Adam Gray accounted for ’Foss.

Thorpe United collected their first points of the season with a 3-2 win at White Horse. Malton & Norton registered back-to-back wins over Stamford Bridge to jump into second spot in reserve ‘C’.

They fell behind in the opening match after less than a minute.

Gary Pickering levelled and Ed Marwood hit the winner.

Tha game was followed by a 1-0 win for the Ryedale side. Joe Karnsaki and Liam Hancy shared the Fulford goals in a 2-0 home win over Nestlé.

Jack Cartwright came off the bench to score twice for Crayke as they toppled St Clement’s 5-1.

Civil Service led twice in their top-of-the-table clash with Cliffe in reserve ‘D’. Craig Coates and then Oliver Cook gave Service the advantage, but goals from Ben Rawson and Richard Milner ensured Cliffe claimed a 2-2 draw.

Billy Thompson scored twice for Tadcaster Magnets in their 5-0 win at Huby.
