HIGH-FLYING Tadcaster Magnets maintained their unbeaten record in division four of the York Minster Engineering Football League as they beat Bishop Wilton 8-0.

Craig Heard was among the goals with another treble while Adam Field scored four times and Nesh Bilalli chipped in with one.

Melbourne recorded back-to-back wins for the first time in two years as they clinched a 4-2 victory over Fox.

The Melbourne goals came from Matt Underwood, Nick Boyd, Mike Palfrey and an own goal. Andy McGlead and Matthew Nicholls were the Fox marksmen.

Old Malton moved out of the relegation zone in reserve ‘A’ after they beat fellow strugglers Haxby United 4-0 at home, and condemned their visitors to a place in the bottom two.

The hosts’ goals came from Richard Stephenson, Josh Beech (2) and Jimmy Tonkinson.

Dringhouses opened up a five-point lead at the top of reserve ‘B’ after winning 3-1 at Thorpe, despite trailing to an early goal.

Tom Bissett had a simple tap-in to equalise before goals from Javier Shepherd and Matthew Darbyshire extended Dringhouses’ unbeaten away run to six.

In the only reserve ‘C’ fixture played, Crayke endured their ninth home game without a win as goals from Matty Clarke and John Haythorne saw visitors Hemingbrough win 2-0.

Crayke and Hemingbrough finished with ten players.

Cliffe took the honours in their local derby against Selby RSSC for the second time this season and the victory moved them to the top of reserve ‘D’.

The Cliffe goals were shared between Billy Ayton, Nathan Parker and Chris Jackson. Tom Knowles struck twice for Bishop Wilton but his side still lost 5-2 at Huby.

The home side’s goals came from Tom Horner (2), Simon Webster, Gareth Thompson and substitute Stewart Lunn.
