Nestlé Flag’s hopes of winning division one in the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning Football League were left in tatters after a 5-4 home defeat to Selby Olympia.
Rob Fryer scored hat-trick for the visitors, adding to strikes for Chris Thompson and George Wojcik.
Flag’s replies came from Pete Laidlaw, Kevin Martin and Craig Huggins, with a brace. Skelton looked to be heading for a rare away win after Chris Holmes struck an early goal, but Hounds’ Alan Jackson came off the bench to tie the game 1-1.
Enterprise’s four-game unbeaten run continued thanks to a last-minute strike from veteran Chris Golding which saw them draw 1-1 at Derwent United, who had led 1-0 with a 69th-minute opener from Dean Readman.
Acomb Celtic, with goals from Mark Benson and Stuart Nicholls, drew 2-2 with Haxby.
In division two, Acorn’s 11-game unbeaten run came to an end after they went down 6-2 at Station.
Gary Collier was the top marksman for the Selby side with a treble adding to strikes from Ryan Watson, Wayne Brook and Tom Littlewood.
Acorn’s replies came from John Tattersfield and Mark Bellah.
Cueball brushed aside Hambleton Lions 5-0 with braces from Amos Laverack and Tom Wheatland, plus a Matty Simpson effort.
Harry Bryan, Nick Rank, Scott Backhouse, Nathan Bradley and James Willmoth all found the net as York Nomads beat St John 5-2.
The students replied with two goals from Benjamin Wade.
Leeman United gave their title hopes a boost in division three by beating leaders Dunnington 4-2.
After a goalless first half, Leeman took the lead with a strike from Daniel Midgely and Jamie Moore made it 2-0.
Dunnington hit back with a goal from Craig Theaker, but Lee Hanson soon restored Leeman’s two-goal advantage.
Midgely scored his second to make 4-1 before Mark Andrews hit Dunnington’s second.
Acomb WMC beat Shoulder of Mutton 4-1 thanks to hat-trick from Colin Rayner, plus an own goal. Shoulder’s reply came from Jake Corner.
Hambleton saw off Barlby 5-2 thanks to a Matty Dunne hat-trick, plus strikes from Scott Garman and James Mackay.
New Earswick eased their relegation fears with a 5-1 win over bottom side Gypsy Moth.
On target for Earswick were Matty Dawson, Alex Mackay, Mike Popplewell and Ross McClean, with a brace.
Bubwith Nomads still top division four after beating LNER Builders 1-0. The decisive goal came from a late Sean Whincup effort.
Three goals from Matt Cullen, plus strikes from Si Davison, Mark Fawthrop and Greg Chambers, saw York Medics beat Brayton 6-4.
Steve Curry, Janos Tatacs, Pat Guest and Luke Lambert replied for the villagers.
Lee Ward hit four goals in Huntsman’s 11-4 win over bottom side Linton-on-Ouse.
Also on target were Danny May, James Holroyd, Danny Gatenby, Simon White, Ross McLeod and Mike Light with a brace.
Linton responded through Michael Chambers (2), Chris Scotting and Chris Cook.
