York City release Duane Courtney

DEFENDER Duane Courtney has been released by York City with immediate effect.

The 26-year-old right-back was signed by former manager Martin Foyle last summer.

Courtney started only four games for the Minstermen and has recently been on trial at Cheltenham.

When first seen in the game against Kidderminster in which he was pretty useless and also managed to get himself sent off, his goose was pretty much cooked re. his City future. Not one of Martin Foyles greatest moves!Hopefully he will do better at Cheltenham.

I doubt it. He just wasn't good enough. Every time I saw him play he didn't look up to the job. Says a lot that Parslow an inexperienced right back was doing a much better job than what he could do. He will no doubt get nothing at Cheltenham and sign for a part time club.
