PREMIER division leaders Dringhouses notched their ninth straight win in the York Minster Engineering Football League.

Hosts Dunnington were the latest victims as ’Houses, who lead the table by nine points, ran out 3-0 victors on Saturday.

George Bissett headed Dringhouses in front in the first half and Anthony Evans extended the lead with a 25-yard screamer before Bissett made it 3-0.

York RI consolidated second place as they secured a double over hosts Haxby United, winning 2-1.

Lee Powell and Mark Woodward gave RI the advantage at the break before Marc Thompson reduced the deficit from the spot.

Old Malton extended their unbeaten home run to six games with a hard-fought win over Riccall, Scott Preston scoring the only goal of the game.

Poppleton United came from 2-0 down at Huntington to share the points in a 2-2 draw.

The home side led at the break courtesy of an own goal before Ashley Hill had a simple tap-in to double the advantage.

Huntington looked to be on target to secure a double over their visitors, but a Tom Shaw free-kick was quickly followed by a goal from sub Danny Temple.

Poppleton ’keeper Ashley Nelson saved the ball onto the woodwork four times as his side held on.

York St John recorded a first ever win over Hamilton Panthers in the top flight, ending a winless run of six games with a 7-2 away victory.

Ryan O’Riley and Paul King were the Panthers scorers. Matty Bastock hit a hat-trick for Copmanthorpe as they beat Easingwold 6-2. Cop’s other goals came from Mike Creswick (2) and Richard Holden.

Glen Littlewood scored for Kartiers in a 3-1 home defeat by Tadcaster.

The two early pacemakers in division one, St Clement’s and Wigginton, were both held to away draws.

Saints, defending an unbeaten run of 16 games, let slip a three-goal interval lead at Tockwith before eventually settling for a 4-4 draw.

Scott Nicholas (2), Lewis Bootland and Simon Kehoe scored for Saints, while Tockwith replied through Andy Walker and a Graham Hutchison hat-trick.

Wigginton took the lead at Malton & Norton on the stroke of half-time through Lee Stewart, but the hosts secured a point with a long-range leveller by Wayne Hazell.

Nestlé extended their unbeaten away run to six games with a 2-1 victory at Bishopthorpe.

Paul Scaife and Kev Butler shared the Nestlé goals, with David Fisher replying for Bish.

In division two, Strensall suffered a first defeat in 27 games as they lost 4-2 at Huby, with Richard Jennison hitting all the home side’s goals. Chris Cooper and Kieran Slack got Strensall’s goals.

Jack Cartwright hit five of Crayke’s goals in a 6-3 home win over Ouseburn. Matt Thackeray added the other.

Amotherby were 4-0 winners over Rawcliffe thanks to a penalty by Simon Wall and goals from George Moore and Mikey Brown (2).

Terrington Glory extended their unbeaten home run into double figures with a 4-0 home win over Heworth. Paul Tyler, Ben Richardson, Tom Paley and Dave Bradshaw were the marksmen.
