Knights appoint Emma Sellers as volunteer sports co-ordinator

York City Knights have made a new signing for the new school year – Emma Sellers.

The 25-year-old, who went to Lowfields School, York College and, latterly, Leeds Trinity and All Saints University, recently graduated from her degree in sport development and physical education and will apply her expertise to her new post of volunteer sports co-ordinator.

The programme she will run, to be rolled out in the new school term, will target 14 to 16-year-old pupils with the aim of recruiting them as volunteers to the sporting sector – teaching the youngsters what is needed to be a coach or volunteer for a local sport club.

Emma, who previously delivered children’s cheerleading courses on behalf of the Knights having also worked as a health and fitness instructor in the community, will also help and work alongside the club’s community development team.

She said: “I’m looking forward to getting going.”
