YORK golfer Simon Dyson made a stunning start to round three of the European Masters, but was unable to sustain his charge in Switzerland.
Dyson eagled the first hole at Crans-sur-Sierre on Saturday to move to eight-under-par for the tournament, but slipped back to a three-over-par round of 74.
After his three at the first, Dyson dropped two shots at the fifth and another at the sixth.
A birdie at the seventh got him back on an even keel, but three shots went astray on the back nine to leave him in a tie for 43rd place going into Sunday's final round.
