POCKLINGTON RUFC make one change to the side which started last week’s Yorkshire Shield tie at Hullensians as they travel to Yorkshire Two newcomers Rishworthians.

Student Alex Lucas replaces second team vice-captain Martin Scott on the wing tomorrow.

The game is the first meeting between the two clubs in any competition.

Elsewhere, Malton & Norton entertain Ilkley at The Gannock in Yorkshire One, while league rivals Selby kick off their campaign at Sandhill Lane against Castleford.

Promoted York Railway Institute begin life back in Yorkshire Three at Aireborough, while Nestlé Rowntree RUFC have rejoined the Yorkshire Leagues and debut at Wensleydale in Yorkshire Five.

It has been a wait of nearly ten years for Trees but they have been bolstered by the signing of York stalwart Stu Davies – who has regularly plied his trade at a much higher level.

Club captain Ryan Bushell said: “We have brought in some players from down south and Stu Davies has signed for us. He had a few phone calls since he didn’t re-sign with York and he’s played at a higher level.

“We will hopefully pick up two points and start off with a win. We opted not to have any pre-season games so we could hit the ground running.”
