CITY of York Athletics Club ace Richard Buck helped Great Britain storm into the final of the 4x400 metres relay at the European Athletics Championships.

The 23-year-old teamed up with Conrad Williams, Graham Hedman and Robert Tobin in Saturday's heats in Barcelona.

The quartet brought the baton home first in three minutes 04.09 seconds, qualifying ahead of Poland, the Netherlands and France.

They will be joined in Sunday night's final by Belgium, Germany, Russia and Italy.
