York City are only 90 minutes away from a return to the Football League.

The Minstermen beat Luton Town 1-0 in the second leg of their Blue Square Premier play-off semi-final at Kenilworth Road to seal their place at Wembley.

Chris Carruthers scored just after half-time to add to Richard Brodie’s first leg goal and give City a 2-0 aggregate victory.

Luton Town defender Adam Newton was red-carded in injury time.

Manager Martin Foyle will now lead his men out at Wembley in the play-off final against his former club Oxford United on Sunday, May 16 (5pm).

Oxford were 2-0 winners in their second leg at home to Rushden & Diamonds following a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Nene Park.
