TITLE-CHASERS Dunnington, Haxby United and Old Malton St Mary’s all recorded wins in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division.

Leaders Dunnington fell behind to a Shaun Bugg goal in their encounter with Riccall.

However, Matt Cowans levelled direct from a corner and Tom Richards put the hosts in front before Daz Fawcett equalised just before the break.

Dunnington claimed their first home win since December when Alex Lowe hit the winner seven minutes from time.

Second-placed Haxby beat Tadcaster 5-1 with goals from Chris Dyson, Ash Hill, Gary Mitchinson, John James and Steve Fratson.

Old Malton, in third, beat Huntington 3-2.

Four minutes into the second half, they were leading by a Ryan Cooper brace and a Dave Bell penalty.

The visitors rallied late in the game with goals from Pete Laidlaw and Lee McQuade, but the Ryedale side held on.

Poppleton United ended Hamilton Panthers’ ten-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 win.

Aaron Reid headed Panthers in front after ten minutes, but Ben Janes and Tom Shaw made it 2-1 at the break. Poppleton had little difficulty in holding their lead as two Panthers players saw red.

Wilberfoss’ 4-0 demolition of Tate & Lyle stretched their unbeaten run to five games.

All ’Foss goals came after the break through Olly Newby, John Heads (2) and Tom Robinson.

Copmanthorpe’s Robin Bedford, the former York St John secretary, hit a hat-trick in a 6-2 win against his old club.

James Peace, Matty Bastock and Colin Raynor also scored.

There was no change at the top of division one as all the leading sides won.

Pacesetters Tockwith pushed their unbeaten run to 11 games with a nervy 4-3 home win over struggling Amotherby & Swinton.

The hosts were cruising at 4-1 courtesy of goals from Jamie Perkins, Shaun Mallon, Graham Hutchison and Andy Walker.

However, Mikey Brown and Mike Lindsay scored to add to John Dunning’s first half goal to set up a tense final ten minutes. Second-placed Easingwold recorded their third successive 2-1 away win, this time against Pocklington.

Matthew Hawkhead and Nick Thorn were the scorers.

Post Office needed a Danny Adams goal eight minutes from time to beat Stamford Bridge 1-0.

Two goals from Liam Keenaghan and a Shaun Stockdale strike eased York RI to a 3-0 home win over Thorpe to keep them in touch with the promotion places.

At the other end of the table, Hemingbrough lost 5-1 at Bishopthorpe.

Adie Wood netted for the fourth game on the trot for ’Brough, while the Bish tally included an own goal and two apiece for Joe Gardham and Chris Tait.
