Haxby United’s title challenge faltered as they lost 4-3 at struggling Wilberfoss in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division.
With rivals Dunnington and Old Malton St Mary’s in cup action, Haxby failed to take advantage.
After a goalless first half, Wilberfoss took control to lead 3-1 with goals from John Heads and Olly Newby (2).
Haxby rallied to level with two minutes remaining, Steve Ward adding to a Chris Dyson brace.
However, John Heads nipped in to snatch the points for ’Foss, who are now off the bottom of the table. Wigginton sink to the bottom after losing 4-1 at Riccall, despite taking the lead through Scott Stewart.
The Riccall goals came from Liam Brown, Wayne Brooke, Michael Barnitt and John Barnitt. Tadcaster eased their relegation worries in midweek with a 3-1 win at Kartiers, but remain in the bottom four after a 3-2 loss at home to fellow strugglers York St John.
The students led with goals from Mark Devonshire and Jack Ward and, though the hosts drew level with goals from Phil Smith and Mark Watson, Michael Warnes struck a late winner for St John.
Huntington’s Danny Franks took his league tally to 27 goals with four in a 7-2 win over Tate & Lyle.
Chris Dempsey and Pete Laidlaw (2) also scored, with Dave Reasbeck and Chris Harkin replying.
Goals from Mike McKenzie, Mark Trippitt and Jimmy Clamp helped Hamilton Panthers stretch their unbeaten run to nine games with a 3-1 win at Poppleton.
Dringhouses triumphed at Copmanthorpe for the seventh successive season.
They came from 2-1 down at the break to win 4-2 with goals from Carl Stewart, Christian Fox and Callum Ward (2).
Robin Bedford and Matty Bastock scored for the hosts.
Basement side Stamford Bridge ended a run of 18 games without a win as they beat division one leaders Malton & Norton 3-2.
The Ryedale side were three goals down inside the first 22 minutes as Simon Connell scored twice to add to an own goal.
Liam Burdett pulled a goal back just before the break, but they could only snatch a second goal four minutes from time through Simon Collins en route to their first home defeat of the season.
Tockwith stretched their unbeaten run to eight games after they won 3-2 at Bishopthorpe and they are the new leaders on goal difference.
Matthew Topham put Bishopthorpe in front, but two Graham Hutchison penalties and one from Jamie Perkins saw Tockwith home. Chris Tait hit a late goal for the hosts.
The top two sides in division two were in York FA cup action, but Heworth missed the chance to return to the top of the table.
They lost 3-0 to a revitalised Osbaldwick side, with Nick Lawrie (2) and Sam Thompson sharing the goals.
Terrington Glory kept in touch with the leaders after they defeated Aviva 4-1.
Trailing to a Jason Pinkney goal, they replied through Dave Bradshaw, Paul Tyler, Tom Piercey and Jamie Hampshire.
Martin Pepper gave Rufforth the lead in their home match with White Horse, but the Church Fenton side hit back with goals from John Marshall (3), Rob McQuarry and James Langrick to win 5-1.
Huby were 2-0 winners over Fulford, with Gary Turgoose adding to an own goal.
