OLD Malton St Mary’s booked their place in the final of the York FA Saturday Senior Cup with a 2-0 extra time victory over Dunnington.
The Ryedale side, beaten finalists last season, will play either holders Kartiers or Huntington Rovers in the final.
The sides were locked at 0-0 at normal time, but Ryan Cooper broke the deadlock after Rob Eeles’ header rebounded off the bar.
Neil Wilford sealed the win with a penalty in the last minute after the Dunnington ’keeper had been red-carded for bringing down Dave Bell.
Kartiers and Huntington will play the second semi on Saturday.
Strensall and Selby RSSC will meet in the final of the York FA Saturday Junior Cup – a repeat of last year’s showpiece.
Strensall beat Wheldrake 2-0 but had to wait until the first minute of the second half to get their noses in front through Robert Cookland’s header.
Liam Wingfield netted the second from Jonny Cooper’s pass.
Holders RSSC were 6-3 winners over St Clement’s after extra time.
The sides were level at 2-2 after 90 minutes, with Gary Watkins and Jordan Hornby scoring for Saints and the Selby side twice levelling through Chris Hodgson and Rob Fryer.
Leon Wood and Matthew Howden put RSSC 4-2 in front in extra time and, although Hornby pulled a goal back, Chris Coxon and Fryer added further goals for the victors.
