Coneysthorpe ‘A’ are the new leaders of division one of the NEDL York and District Table Tennis League after a terrific 7-3 win at Sessions ‘A’.

Ashley Hodgson was the star, as he won his singles, including the defeat of Richard Moss, 11-9 in the final game. Moss had earlier beaten Martin Lowe in straight games.

John Wooldridge was unbeaten as Bootham ‘A’ drew at Holgate ‘A’, and he maintained that good form as Bootham ‘A’ edged out Holgate ‘B’.

Dave Lamb ensured Shepherds ‘A’ overcame Railway ‘B’ 6-4.

Holgate ‘D’ occupy a relegation spot in division two, but their two man side managed to pick up three points at leaders Railway ‘C’, who then beat NEDL/Bootham 8-2 with Luke Blackburn and Tim Smith unbeaten.

BT ‘B’ maintained their promotion challenge as they overcame a depleted Shepherds ‘D’ 7-3 in division three.

Bootham ‘D’ jumped into second place with an 8-2 win over Railway ‘D’ with Richard Collyer and John Lloyd the stars.

Second-bottom Shepherds ‘E’ shocked promotion chasing Aviva ‘A’, winning 8-2, though two sets were conceded. John Graham was in fine form.

Leaders Shepherds ‘C’ thumped University ‘B’ 8-2, thanks to Chris Hutchinson and Paul Kozyra.

Division four leaders Railway ‘F’ whitewashed Holgate ‘G’, with Lewis McCarthy, Nathan Taylor and Colin Smith all successful.

Meanwhile Taylor was undefeated in a narrow win over Hartrigg Oaks.

A final game doubles success saw Aviva ‘B’ edge out Holgate ‘F’, with Howard Lewis unbeaten and they drew with Railway ‘E’.
