SELBY Town may be in turmoil off the pitch, but they maintained their on-field form with a 2-1 win at Shirebrook Town in the Northern Counties East League premier division.
A host of players have left the Flaxley Road club in recent weeks and manager Bob Lyon has announced he is stepping down, while calls for extra behind the scenes support have fallen on deaf ears.
But the remaining players have rallied around and goals from Ian Beckram, on 47 minutes, and Duncan Bray, on 78 minutes, were enough to down Shirebrook.
The home side could only manage an 89th minute consolation.
Pickering Town’s revival continued with a 4-1 victory at Long Eaton United. The Pikes are now in eighth place.
Ryan Blott and Scott Phillips netted two apiece as Scarborough Athletic thrashed Nostell Miners Welfare 6-1.
Joel Hartley and Michael Price also scored for the hosts.
In division one, third-placed Tadcaster Albion suffered a setback as they lost 3-1 at Pontefract Collieries.
Kevin Smith scored for Albion on 63 minutes – but they were already 3-0 down at that stage.
Harrogate Town remain bottom of Blue Square North after a 3-0 defeat at Stalybridge.
Town signed former York City duo Liam Shepherd and Josh Radcliffe from Farsley Celtic on the eve of the game.
Harrogate Railway Athletic hit back from 2-0 down to beat Trafford 3-2 at Station View in UniBond League division one north.
Ben Jones started the comeback with a 73rd minute penalty, Kevin Ryan scored on 77 minutes and Paul Stansfield hit the winner with two minutes remaining.
