YORK golfer Simon Dyson opened his final round with a bang at the World Golf Championship at Doral in Florida.
The world number 64 eagled the par-five first as all the action came in the opening seven holes of his round.
Birdies at the third and fifth sandwiched a dropped shot at the fourth, while Dyson also gave a shot back at the seventh before churning out 11 consecutive pars to close the tournament with a round of 70, two under par.
After earlier rounds of 72, 73 and 73, that left Dyson level par for the week and, with several players still out on the course, in a tie for 50th place in the mega-money tournament.
Midway through the final round, South African Ernie Els led on 15 under-par, with compatriot Charl Schwartzel two shots adrift – one ahead of Padraig Harrington.
