Good second half performance but no idea how Brodie skied it off the line! Surely it was going in! Feel we could have sacrificed a defender for a striker for the last 10 as the wind was causing them all sorts of problems.

Let’s hope that although we didn’t get the 3 points today the overall team performance and numerous chances created has helped restore some much needed self-confidence and self-belief in all the players prior to two massive games next week.

Perhaps today’s date didn’t quite give us the luck we needed to stick the ball in the net; even from 2 yards! There’s still hope despite our faith being dented over the last few weeks. Come on City!

Just arrived back from Altrincham - A very poor first half with two poor teams cancelling each other out. The second half was much better from our point of view, but how on earth Richard Brodie didnt score when he was virtually standing on the goal line, I will never know. Brodie could in fact have scored a hat trick, his heading let him down when given a free header at goal. Brodie was also booked for diving again. An average display got a bit better when Rankine replaced the disappointing Gash. Once again Clarke was very poor in midfield. We had a substitute sent on that nobody knew, and the shockingly muffled Altrincham public address system, didnt help us to identify him either. But on the whole it was definately two points dropped today.

Sub was Paul Harsley, emergency loan signing from Chesterfield... how did he play?

Would have thought that would be a decent signing...

Security word wing-best... Smith or Pitt?

Was impressed with Harsley when he came on, nothing spectacular, but he did the basics of a central midfielder very well, some good passes to the wings and he actually seemed to think about what he was going to do, before he kicked the ball, instead of hoofing it. Would like to see him in for Tuesday instead of Clarke, who just doesn't seem to give us anything either as an attacking force or for defensive cover, he can't pass and doesn't like a tackle.

Overall today we played well - with two creative wingers, not fullbacks on the wings. Miss of the season from Brodie, who should also have had a penalty but it seems the referees now have something against him.

We need to regain some consistency and be positive in our ability, the play offs are still in our own hands. We can do it. COME ON CITY

To be quite honest it would be unfair to comment on Paul Harsley, for he did not see too much of the ball, in the short time that he was on the pitch. But at the moment he does not have too much competition for a mid-field place.

Not many comments on here, oh silly me its because we didn't lose, well done lads, its saved us from jez b and that Pratt. Not brilliant but a much improved performance so at least things are on the up. More improvement needed and then play offs here we come.

Courtney Pitt was my man of the match yesterday - by far and away our most creative player and genuinely caused problems - he lacked support on numerous occasions though. Adam Smith had quite a few bright moments too. Good to see us using width and getting plenty of crosses in. As a lover of classic 80's hair cuts, I also enjoyed having a mohican on each wing - like a pair of BA's from A-team! Shame about the lack of an end product, but it was just one of those days. Frustrating, but a much better kind of frustration than in recent games (if that makes sense!)

A forgettable first half in which Altrincham, who are having a reasonable season, won a lot of the 50-50 balls. However, City must have had something in their half-time cup of tea. They totally dominated the second half and I don't think they'll ever create so many chances again without scoring. Even the players who have been criticised recently played their part and it was a good performance all round.
Good atmosphere, well-prepared pitch, good City performance, good refreshments, nice banter between our fans and the Altrincham keeper, Coburn.
The only disappointment for me (apart from the score) was the rather muted appreciation of our players' efforts at the end by our fans.
If the team can carry this on to Tuesday it will be a very entertaining match.

My first chance to gain an impression of Pitt - a favourable one at that.
The second half gave an indication that all is not lost. However we need to rediscover the calm of confidence in front of goal. Smith flattered to deceive but might benefit from a run in the team as he was better than recent short lived outings. The midfield lacks the understanding borne from a long unchanged selection - I hope the string of injuries comes to halt for the run in.
Less annoyed than last time, still just about hanging on to the play off dream - I hope that the same's true in a week's time.

One month from now many on here will be asking "what was all the panic about"?

I was going to say that I can't believe what was written in that last post until I saw the direction it winged in from, I then realised 'yes a post like that is believable'.

You are entitled to your own opinion and to post it PB. I hope you are proved wrong.

We do play better against the better teams in this division RC.

Mansfield will not sit back and defend, thay need the points as much as we do.

Can we exploit the fact they will need at some time in the game to come at us.

When we get the all the lads back we will push on again, though it will be just in time.

Ha ha ha security word is city-draw.

Could well do.

One poxy point, this should have been a 3 certainty. York have really lost their way if they are happy with this.

mansfield are going to be desperate for points as the Chester situation hit them harder than anyone. this should be a thriller, does anybody know when Lawless is fit again? we need him back asap.

A thriller that would be a rarity from Foyles team. Hope you are right but doubt it, another defeat on the way.

I am getting seriously worried about this posters mental health, never a good word for anything York City. Do they have men in white coats in Selby, if so I think a visit would be in order. On a positive note we can and will beat Mansfield and Wimbledon and everything will look a whole lot rosier on sunday morning COME ON CITY
