Arundel aces thrill in Yorkshire Under-18s Challenge Bowls Cup


Selby upset the form-book in the Yorkshire Under-18s Challenge Cup at Thanet Road.

The youngsters beat champions Scarborough 31-17 in the semi-final, then ousted league runners-up Hornsea 33-19 in the final.

Hornsea had earlier beaten the joint team from York and New Earswick 31-20.

In the first game, Selby player Hollie Arundel’s team – which included Heather Logan and Rory Davies – won 17-7.

Sam Arundel’s rink – which included Jamie Jackson and James Logan – also won.

In the final, Sam’s team won 20-9, while Hollie’s side had the edge at 11-10 and finished with two singles.
