York IBC ‘B’ made it two wins from two games in the Yorkshire Over-55s League division two, beating North Cave ‘B’ 98-86 and picking up 12 points.
Away, Tony Hopcutt’s team secured an excellent 22-14 victory, but Alwyn Redhead’s team went down 35-15.
The home rinks made up the deficit, with the team led by Tony Thornton, winning 41-15 and Dennis Haw’s rink pulling back to finish 22-20 losers.
Plans are afoot to start a new outdoor Sunday morning Triples Bowls League, starting on May 9 and ending on August 15.
Five more teams are needed to join the league and anyone interested in taking part should phone Ken Day on 01904 790459 after 6pm.
The closing date for entries is March 20.
