A TOTAL of 14 walkers competed in the final Northern Winter Race Walking League 10k at Adwalton Moor, Drighlington, where the Redcar, Yorkshire, York CIU and Lancashire clubs were all represented.

The race was won by ex-York ace Paul Evenett (Redcar) in a time of 47 minutes and 29 seconds.

There was a three-way tie in the season’s individual handicap competition, with Evenett, Karen Wears (Redcar) and Alistair Shand (Yorkshire RWC) each recording 109 points. The title was awarded, based on number of highest race scores, to Wears.

The team award went to Redcar, with Yorkshire RWC runner-up.
