York City Knights will travel to Castleford Tigers as part of their pre-season preparations for 2010 – with the teams again playing in honour of the late Paul Higgins.
It is the third friendly arranged by the Knights and will follow those at home against the York Select XIII on Sunday, December 27, and new arch-rivals Hunslet Hawks on Sunday, January 10.
The Cas game will be at the Jungle on Sunday, January 17 (3.30pm), with the Knights looking to retain the Paul Higgins Cup which they won in January.
The game was arranged in memory off the former Knights academy coach and Castleford player who died in October 2008.
Admission to the game will be £8 for adults and £4 concessions.
Knights general manager Ian Wilson said: “We are happy, again, to be able to dedicate the performance to Paul Higgins, who was held in such high regard by everyone at the club and I’m sure the players will do him proud.”
The match could see new Knights signings Luke Helliwell and Matty Duckworth make a quick return to their former club.
