ELATION could be the word to describe trainer Mark Johnston if his daughter of Attraction performs half as well as mum on the track this season.

The North Yorkshire handler reckons Elation, who might run in May, is very similar to her five-time Group 1 winning parent – and he admits he is excited about seeing her on the course.

Johnston said: “It is lovely to see how similar she is to her mother. That’s quite exciting.

“I suppose she could be similar in every way except her talents and we won’t know that until we run her but she looks the part.

“She has had her first half-speed gallop and looked very impressive.

“I hope she will be out in May just in case, like her mother, she’s a Royal Ascot candidate.”

Johnston said it was too early to pinpoint which of his current crop of two-year-olds could have Classic potential, but did say: “There’s a filly called Sennokian Storm, by Storm Cat.

“I loved her when I bought her. I bought her at Keeneland. I stuck my neck out and did a crazy thing.

“I spent $350,000 on her, on spec, without having any idea which one of my owners would take her.

“She’s my favourite filly in the yard.”
