The three promotion contenders in division three of the Leeper Hare York & District Football League all recorded comfortable away wins.

Terrington Glory won at Civil Service 4-1 with goals from Ben Richardson, Dave Bradshaw, Danny Mead and Chris Leedham.

A brace of strikes from Martin Lobb and a Martin Chapman effort helped Wheldrake to seal a valuable 3-1 win at Norton United.

Third in the table Strensall extended their unbeaten away run to nine games with a 4-2 win at Barmby Moor. They bagged all their goals in the first half through Jordan Wilson (2), Danny Mason and Mick Pipe.

Barmby Moor replied with a Sam Appleton free-kick and a second-half goal from Shaun Webster.

Haxby United need to win just half of their remaining six fixtures to take the Reserve ‘A’ championship after their 2-1 win over biggest rivals Dunnington.

Pete Dransfield scored both Haxby’s goals in the second half after Andy Rose had given Dunnington an early lead. Copmanthorpe remain third in the table after a Ben Sykes goal gave them a 1-0 win at Old Malton, and Joe Gardham scored the only goal of the game as fourth placed Bishopthorpe defeated Huntington.

Reserve ‘B’ leaders Hamilton Panthers suffered their first defeat in 15 games as they lost 2-1 to Tockwith.

Jason Giradier’s opening goal for the hosts was cancelled out by Jack Clayton before Andrew Walker hit the second-half winner for Tockwith. Second-placed Easingwold extended their unbeaten home run to eight with a 3-0 win over Stamford Bridge. Their goals – all in the second half – were scored by Paul Floyd, Andrew Metcalfe senior and Gary Raper.

Third in the table Wilberfoss lost ground on the leaders as they suffered their first defeat in eight games as two second-half goals from Chris Metcalfe gave visitors Ouseburn a 2-0 win.

The only hat-trick of the day was scored by Poppleton’s Nick Moss as his side wrapped up their season with a 5-0 home win over Pocklington.

Norwich Union’s promotion from Reserve ‘C’ was confirmed in the last ten seconds of Amotherby’s home game with Hemingbrough.

Dale Shipley’s late equaliser for the visitors made it 1-1 and denied Amotherby the maximum points they needed to overhaul Norwich’s total. Hallam Hall had earlier put Amotherby in front.
